Police investigate Blackheath dog food bowl drug riddle

POLICE are investigating complaints from residents about drug dealers using a dog food bowl to exchange contraband in Blackheath.
Residents in Angela Avenue spotted the bizarre method of drug dealing and raised it at the last Blackheath Neighbourhood Forum.
Rowley Councillor Barbara Price detailed the residents complaints, she said: “There is a problem with drug dealing on Angela Avenue.
“A chained dog bowl has been left out by a resident and drugs have been left in this for exchange.”
After the issue was raised both the council and the police investigated the problem.
Cllr Price said: “Police and ward members conducted a walkabout and a resident was asked to remove the dog bowl.
“Police also discussed the issues with residents to be more vigilant and will continue to monitor this location.”
There were also complaints about drug dealing in other parts of the Blackheath ward.
Cllr Price said: “Concerns have been raised regarding drugs paraphernalia found in the communal areas.
“Police and Black Country Housing will investigate and provide an update at the next forum meeting.”
The next forum meeting is at the Central Methodist Church, Blackheath at 6.30pm on Wednesday, February 8. Complaint of drug dealing were also raised at the last Rowley Neighbourhood Forum.
Cllr Price said: “There are concerns that drug dealing is taking place in Springfield Close and the police will provide an update at the next meeting.”
