Hammers face huge task
3:50pm Thursday 11th March 2010
ROCK bottom Cradley Town face a massive weekend when they take on relegation rivals Shifnal Town.
The Hammers’ situation looks increasingly dire after two crushing losses in the last week and they must win in Shropshire to retain any hope of stopping up in the Midland Alliance.
Manager Craig Williams was hopeful of a maiden win last Saturday at Highgate but instead Cradley lost 4-0.
Worse followed on Tuesday as the Hammers went down 6-1 at Friar Lane and Epworth.
Elsewhere Causeway United returned to action last night when they travelled to Bridgnorth Town and drew 0-0.
United now host Coalville on Saturday and Malvern Town on Tuesday.
l It was a better weekend all round for Old Halesonians RFC, who picked up their first win of the season and halted a five game losing streak thanks to a 17-10 victory at Camp Hill.
Old Hales now travel to Cheltenham North on Saturday hoping to further banish any lingering relegation fears.
