Sam storms into final
11:00am Saturday 20th March 2010
OLDBURY boxer Sam Eggington has continued his impressive progress through the amateur ranks by reaching the CYP boxing finals.
The 16-year-old, who trains at Warley Boxing Club, will travel to London’s Troxy next Thursday for the bout.
It follows a comfortable semi-final victory over Wakefield’s Tom Jones in Yorkshire last weekend.
Eggington was national novice champion last November and has won all 13 fights under trainer John Nash.
Nash said: “The semi-final fight was the easiest yet for Sam, he was never in danger of losing.
“He has also reached the semis of the ABA juniors so its a busy time for him.
“He just keeps on winning and is a very good prospect.
“It’s just a shame the London fight is on a Thursday as otherwise we would have taken a coachload down.”
