Stour swimmers fifth in Midlands final
7:30pm Friday 27th January 2012
STOURBRIDGE Swimming Club finished a superb fifth in the Midlands final of the National Arena League.
It was the first final in more than a decade for Stour, following some exceptional finishes in the early rounds.
Brittany Norton was the star of the night, dropping just one point with a string of impressive performances.
There was also success for the B team, who gained promotion to Division Two with a third place finish in the Division Three swim-off.
The 11 years relay team of James Enright, Ed Maycock, Luke Willetts and Taylor Crannage were particularly outstanding.
Team manager Julie Hill said: “This is simply amazing. We never expected at the beginning of the season we would be gaining promotion.
“Our team have been absolutely incredible all the way through and thoroughly deserve their place in Division Two.”
